Santa Barbara High boys volleyball took care of business with a three-set sweep of Pacifica on Tuesday in Oxnard, 25-13, 25-16, 25-19.

Hayes Costner shined on the outside for the Dons with a match-high 17 kills, while Blake Lee came out of the middle for five kills.

“Blake is so athletic and he has so much potential to be a great player. The more reps he gets in game situations will allow our team to have a more balanced offense,” Santa Barbara High head coach Chad Arneson said.

Meanwhile, Maddox Denver dished out 34 assists and Beck Young recorded 12 digs and two aces.

The Dons (11-4, 5-1 Channel League) will host crosstown rival Dos Pueblos on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. inside J.R. Richards Gym.

Bishop Diego 3, Dunn 0

The Cardinals soared to a three-set sweep of Dunn on Tuesday, 25-3, 25-11, 25-15.

Kingston Bustos led the way with nine kills for Bishop Diego, while Nico DeRosa chipped in seven kills and five aces.

“I thought we did some nice things offensively today,” Bishop Diego head coach Dillan Bennett said. “I think Kingston is one of our most improved players so far this year, and while he’s still learning the game, he’s also doing the little things like controlling the first contact, setting a hittable ball and making good moves at the net.

“Everyone knows we want to go to our premiere hitters, so to keep teams honest with other guys who are stepping up as of late gives up more opportunities to score. We’re hoping to continue to develop that in the second half of the season.”

The Cardinals (14-3, 5-0 Tri-Valley League) will host San Marcos for a crosstown non-league match on Wednesday at 5 p.m. inside the Brick House.

San Marcos 3, Ventura 0

The Royals earned a Channel League sweep of the Cougars on Tuesday in Ventura, 25-16, 25-14, 29-27.

Keanu Nguyen was all over the court in the victory, tallying 14 digs and three aces while supplying strong passing throughout the match.

Meanwhile, Matteo Burdick led the offense with 14 kills and Owen Willer and Jamie Hetrick followed with nine and eight kills, respectively.
