Bishop Diego softball outlasted Trinity Classical Academy for a 30-27 victory on Tuesday in Valencia

Penny Carroll and Keke Flores led the Cardinals’ offensive outburst with the first home runs of their career. Carroll went 3-for-3 with six RBI and three runs scored, while Flores went 4-for-4 with five RBI and four runs scored.

Meanwhile, Kayla Lucatero Franco went 2-for-3 and drove in four runs, and Eden Wynne ended the day 2-for-6 with two RBI and three runs scored.

“Everyone got an opportunity to contribute to the team on the field today to get the win,” Bishop Diego head coach MeLinda Matsumoto said. “I’m very proud of the girls for sticking with it in the heat and supporting each other.”

The Cardinals will take on Coastal Christian in Arroyo Grande on Thursday.
