Santa Barbara High girls beach volleyball dropped a tight non-league match with Thousand Oaks by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday in Thousand Oaks.

Blake Saunders and Stella Peus picked up a win for the Dons in the No. 2 matchup, coming out on top 21-12, 21-14.

“Stella had great hustle and effort, and Blake swung very well today,” Santa Barbara High head coach Kristin Hempy said.

The No. 5 duo of Delilah Ficker and Naomi Roman earned the second and final victory of the day for Santa Barbara High in three sets, 21-14, 11-21, 15-7.

“Delilah had two great serving runs in the first and third set, and Naomi was communicative, competitive and setting really well. These two looked sharp today,” Hempy said.

The Dons will take next week off for Spring Break.
