Six people were transported to the hospital from the Earl Warren Showgrounds in Santa Barbara on Sunday for a combination of concerns that led to the declaration of a mass casualty incident.

Emergency personnel from the Santa Barbara City Fire Department and Police Department responded at about 7 p.m. to the facility at 3400 Calle Real.

One call involved a report of a fight that led to three people being transported to the hospital for injuries they received during the altercation, Battalion Chief Jon Turner said.

Three other medical emergencies at the site also required emergency resources for minor issues, he added.

Multiple ambulances responded to the scene to transport the six patients to the hospital.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., emergency crews were dispatched to the area for a report of a vehicle crash, but details weren’t immediately available.

Earl Warren Showgrounds hosted a concert with multiple performers from 1-8 p.m. Sunday, according to the facility’s website.

Performers reportedly included Los Inquietos del Norte plus Los Caimanes de Sinaloa, Rancho El Aguaje and others, with the event organized by Valdivia Marketing Group
