After a 15-2 season, including an 11-2 conference record, the Vaquero Women’s Tennis team was well-represented in the Western State Conference (WSC) awards released on Wednesday.
Beginning with the First Team selections, Luccia Noel-Jungclaussen was selected for the Singles No. 2 position, as was Alice Guillaumond for the Singles No. 3 position.
Noel-Jungclaussen ended the regular season with a 13-2 singles record, playing every match on court one or two. Guillaumond finished 13-0, winning every match but two in straight sets.
The Second Team is where the Vaqueros got the most recognition. In singles, Donatella Biscayart was selected for the No. 5 position and Nicole O’Malley for the No. 6 position. Biscayart went 9-3 in the regular season and O’Malley went 10-2.
The pair also were named to the Second Team in the No. 3 Doubles position. Playing together the final eight matches, they went 6-2. Noel-Jungclaussen and McCarley Trigg also made the Second Team for No. 2 Doubles, playing together in every match but one and going 10-5.
Morea Naretto was named an Honorable Mention for the No. 5 Singles spot, going 6-3 in the regular season.
The three-seeded Vaqueros continue their season next Tuesday as they travel to two-seed Orange Coast for a 3C2A SoCal Regional Semifinal matchup.
