A motorcycle rider was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital Monday morning with minor injuries after a collision in Santa Barbara, according to Santa Barbara City Fire Department Battalion Chief Jon Turner.

Emergency personnel responded to Highway 101 northbound and Garden Street at around 8:39 a.m. for a report of a motorcyclist down near the center divider.

The motorcycle and one other vehicle were towed from the scene, according to the California Highway Patrol.

One lane was blocked in the collision, causing heavy traffic in that area.

Traffic cleared up by 9:30 a.m., according to the CHP.

No additional information was available.
