Burdick shined on the outside for the San Marcos volleyball team this weekend, leading the charge to a 4-0 record and the program’s first Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions title.

The junior rounded out the tournament with 25 kills in the championship, including nine in the decisive fifth set. As a result, he was named the Tournament MVP.

She paced the team with four goals in a 15-7 win over rival Dos Pueblos, added on six more goals in an 18-3 rout of Thacher and capped off the week with five goals in a non-league win over Bishop O’Dowd.
