Carpinteria High baseball failed to record a hit in a 6-0 road loss to Santa Paula on Wednesday.

Santa Paula starter Isaak Medina kept the Warriors off balance all day, striking out 11 batters and walking four en route to the no-hitter.

After the two sides were locked at 0-0 through three innings, Santa Paula got on the board with a two-run homer in the fourth and never looked back en route to the win.

Carpinteria’s Dallas Bartholic turned in a solid outing on the mound to keep the Santa Paula offense limited in the early stages.

“The Cardinals are good. They play catch and pitch really well,” Carpinteria High head coach Pat Cooney said. “On offense, they take advantage of every single thing that they are given. It’s the reason that they are in first place.

“We might have just been lacking the belief and determination needed to succeed. There are some skilled players in our lineup too and they did some really good competitive things within the framework of a loss.”

The two teams will meet again on Friday at John Calderwood Field in Carpinteria.
