Laguna Blanca boys volleyball kicked off its CIF-SS Div. 8 playoff run with a sweep of Lynwood on Tuesday in Hope Ranch.

The Owls dominated the first set of the match and rolled to the sweep from there, 25-13, 25-20, 25-22.

“We took control early in the match and stayed composed throughout,” Laguna Blanca head coach Jason Donnelly said. “It got a little tense at the end of the third and I was pleased with how our guys responded to finish it off.

“We are looking forward to getting back to practice tomorrow to prepare for our second-round match on Thursday.”

The Owls will remain at home on Thursday when they play host to West Valley, which defeated Channel Islands in four sets on Tuesday.

Soren Alldredge paced the Laguna Blanca offense in the sweep, hammering down 15 kills with a .379 hitting percentage and chipping in two blocks.

Meanwhile, Baylor Wilson filled up the stat sheet with 28 assists, eight digs and five aces, and Lawler Jackson tallied six kills of his own.
