Carpinteria High swim turned in a strong showing in the preliminary round of the Citrus Coast League Championship on Tuesday at the Nordhoff Aquatics Complex in Ojai.
“I had the chance to step back and simply enjoy watching them celebrate their performances, believe in themselves and show respect by congratulating their competition,” Carpinteria High head coach Jon Otsuki said.
“It was a reflection of everything this program stands for. I’m incredibly proud of this group.”
Sky Korling made some program history for the Warriors, breaking his own record in the 100 butterfly freestyle with a time of 53.52 seconds. He was followed by teammates Luke Donahue and Rider Shaw.
The Carpinteria High boys trio of Jake Ehlers, Wyatt Pitterle and Massimo Bonilla-Zakosek picked up the top three spots in the 100 freestyle, and Luke Donahue, Stefano Piccoletti and Cade McCallister were top three in the 500 freestyle.
Chris Reed rounded out the boys standouts by grabbing the top spot in the 200 IM.

Meanwhile, Hazel Dugre and Sky Korling placed second and third, respectively in the 50, and Madison Lee took second in the 100. Lee also secured the top seed in the 200 IM.
