
Albert Acuña, born May 8, 1923, in Canoga Park, California, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 18, 2026 at the age of 102.
Albert was a World War II veteran who was honorably discharged following an injury while in service.
He earned numerous medals during his time serving his country, including a Purple Heart, World War II Victory Medal, American Theater Ribbon, Air Medal W/L Cluster, Good Conduct Medal, and an EAME Theater Medal.
Albert was the second oldest of nine siblings. He was preceded in death by his mother Juana Acuña and siblings Concepcion Garcia, Fred Acuña, Henry Acuña, Manuel Acuña, Rudy Acuña, Mary Acuña, and Ramona Acuña.
He is survived by his youngest brother Jesse Acuña, and his many nieces and nephews.
Albert grew up in Santa Barbara. Once home from the war, he worked at Hidden Valley Ranch and San Marcos bowling lanes.
Albert was very active in his community and an active member and volunteer at the Goleta Valley Senior Center, and life member at the Elks of Santa Barbara.
He will be missed by his family and friends.
