Manny Vasta, 93, of Carpinteria passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026.

Manny was known for his kind heart, strong work ethic, and dedication to his family and friends. He enjoyed gardening, cheering on his favorite sports teams (Notre Dame), dancing, and most of all helping others.

Manny is survived by four of his five children Kathleen Vasta, Susette Vasta-Durso, Patrick Vasta, and Aimee Weems; and numerous extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Elinore and eldest son Gregory.

A funeral service will take place 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 17 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 1300 E. Valley Road, Montecito, with burial to follow at Carpinteria Cemetery, 1501 Cravens Lane.

Manny will be remembered by all for his infectious smile and big personality.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made to the Friendship Center in Montecito, where he spent the best last years of his life as a result of the love and care of a tremendous staff of caregivers.
