Roughly 4,800 Southern California Edison customers in the downtown Santa Barbara area lost power Thursday afternoon after a tree fell into power lines, an SCE spokesperson confirmed.
Reports initially came in shortly before 4 p.m. that areas around Alameda Padre Serra and Plaza Rubio on the city’s Upper East Side had lost power.
SCE’s David Eisenhaur said around 5:15 p.m. that the company was “working to safely restore power to our customers.”
Power was expected to be restored to everyone affected by 7 p.m.
