Actors Madison Lintz and Mimi Rogers, both co-stars in the TV series “Bosch” will perform in John Patrick Shanley’s Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award–winning drama “Doubt: A Parable,” April 7-25, at the New Vic Theatre, Ensemble Theatre Company (ETC) has announced.

Directed by Beejan Land, Lintz will star in the role of Sister James opposite Rogers’ Sister Aloysius.

The production is part of ETC’s Season 48, California: Here and Now.

Lintz is best known to television audiences as FBI Special Agent Maddie Bosch on Amazon’s “Bosch” and “Bosch: Legacy” series. She appears alongside Rogers, who plays defense attorney Honey Chandler.

Lintz’s earlier credits include AMC’s “The Walking Dead” as Sophia Peletier, along with roles in “Parenthood,” “Prison Break,” and the film “Compliance.”

“Rogers and Lintz bring to ‘Doubt’ a working relationship years in the making, one that translates directly to the play’s central dynamic,” according to ETC.

Sister Aloysius, the iron-willed principal of St. Nicholas School, enlists the young and idealistic Sister James in her pursuit of the parish’s charismatic new priest. The two women’s tug-of-war over conscience, obedience, and truth is the engine of Shanley’s parable.

“Madison and Mimi have been sharpening each other’s work on ‘Bosch’ for years, and audiences are going to feel that history the moment they walk onstage together,” said Scott DeVine, artistic director of Ensemble Theatre Company.

“Sister James is one of the great supporting roles in the American canon — the audience’s way into the play — and Madison has exactly the intelligence and openness the part demands. We are thrilled to have her,” DeVine said.

“I am so excited to be stepping into this role and am very thankful to the Ensemble Theatre Company for the opportunity, as well as very grateful to our director Beejan for trusting me with Sister James,” Lintz said. “We hope you will come and see us at The New Vic theater in Santa Barbara.”

“Doubt” is part of ETC’s five-production season that explores California, its dreams, myths, reckonings, and the people who live them. The full season, in performance order:

  • “Buyer & Cellar” (October) – Jonathan Tolins’ solo comedy set in Barbra Streisand’s private Malibu mall. A meditation on celebrity, consumerism, and the California dream at its most surreal.
  • “RENT” (December) – Jonathan Larson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning rock musical, celebrating its 30th anniversary. A tribute to the bohemian artist spirit that has shaped California communities.
  • “The Last Used Car Lot in America” (February) – A world-premiere musical by Joel Surnow and Sean Callery. A love letter to a vanishing American way of life, and to California’s enduring car culture.
  • Doubt: A Parable (April) – Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award–winning moral thriller — a reckoning that California is still living through.
  • True West (June) – Sam Shepard’s explosive drama set in the San Gabriel Valley, where the desert meets the suburbs, and two brothers fight for the soul of the American West.
     
    Season subscription renewals, new subscriptions, and single tickets are now on sale and available to the general public. Both renewing and new subscribers will have the opportunity to add on tickets to the “Hershey Felder: Love Notes” engagement and National Theatre Live screenings at the time of their subscription purchase, before the events go on sale to the general public.
