Dos Pueblos football’s Chase Johnson and Bishop Diego volleyball’s Karina Urzua shined last week en route to Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table Athlete of the Week honors.

The pairing was honored at Monday’s SBART Press Luncheon at Harry’s Plaza Cafe.
Johnson was a force on the offensive end to lead the Chargers to a 42-28 victory over Buena that spanned across two days and was played on two separate fields after a lighting issue on Friday night.
The senior took 25 carries for 175 rush yards and three touchdowns, while also adding two catches for 25 yards and a fourth touchdown to help his team to the win.
Meanwhile, Urzua filled up the stat sheet consistently in two Tri-Valley League victories and a second-place finish at the Del Sol Invitational.
She began the week with 25 kills and 23 digs in a 5-set win over Laguna Blanca and a double-double of 14 kills and 10 digs in a win over Villanova Prep. She followed that up with 83 kills, 89 digs and seven aces in six matches at the Del Sol Invitational.
