A one-acre vegetation fire sparked late Monday night in New Cuyama.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department, alongside Kern County Fire Department crews, first responded to a report of a vegetation fire burning behind the 300 block of Wasioja Road at around 9:35 p.m.
The fire was burning downhill on the western side of a hill around 10 p.m., per emergency radio traffic.
