The Santa Barbara Reading Coalition will host a candidate forum for the Santa Barbara Unified School District Board of Education, 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, at the Keller Williams office, 1511 Chapala St.

All candidates for the Santa Barbara Unified School Board have been invited to participate. Local journalist Jerry Roberts will moderate the forum.

The forum is intended to give voters a clear look at how each candidate would approach literacy and student achievement in the district.

TVSB will record the forum so those who cannot attend in person can watch it later.

The Santa Barbara Reading Coalition is a group of local community members, educators and advocates working toward reading success of 90% or higher among Santa Barbara students through instruction grounded in the Science of Reading.
