Carpinteria High cross country turned in a stellar showing at the Citrus Coast League Cluster Meet on Tuesday at Santa Paula Creek Sports Park.

The Warrior girls captured first place as a team, while the boys team came in second place to Santa Paula in a meet worth 50% of the Citrus Coast League title.

“The girls team packed up well and pushed the pace coming into the finish to secure first place. They really came with it the last 1K of the race and passed a few teams to put them ahead,” Carpinteria High head coach Angel Silva said.

“I’m very proud of both the girls and boys teams and how they raced today as a team.”

The Carpinteria High girls team was led by a second-place finish from Jaqueline Guadian with a time of 19:30.9. She was joined in the top 10 by fellow Warriors Mila Martins (5th, 21:02.4), Penelope Rowe (7th, 21:50) and Belen MacMurray (10th, 22:11.5).

The girls team was rounded out by Victoria Martinez (11th, 22:14), Stacie Miranda (18th, 23:42.1) and Kenzi Gardner (22nd, 24:44).

On the boys side, Max Soto was the Warriors’ top finisher in second place with his mark of 16:25.7.

He was followed by Jaiden Ambriz (10th, 17:40.2), Ronnie Rosales-Bui (13th, 17:50.8), Brody Pozzebon (15th, 17:58), Liam Killen (18th, 18:08.4), Christian Dominguez (23rd, 18:30.5) and Christian Hernandez Ortiz (28th, 19:11.8).

Carpinteria High will be at the Dos Pueblos Invitational in Goleta next weekend.
