Carpinteria High girls tennis rolled to a 16-2 rout of Santa Paula on Tuesday in Carpinteria.
The Warrior doubles won all nine of the available sets, while the singles lineup secured seven of nine points.
“Overall, we played really well,” Carpinteria High head coach Charles Bryant said. “The girls seemed to enjoy playing today and seemed to be playing fairly relaxed. They were able to challenge themselves and each other and they came out of it a better team.”
The Warrior pairings of Nathalie Hernandez/Naima Palacio and Aubrey Alcaraz/Cailyn Gillen each went 3-0 on the day. Meanwhile, Yaretzi Moctezuma went 2-0 alongside Sadie West and 1-0 with Ariana Cruz.
In singles, Emily Banks went 3-0, Caroline Cooney went 2-0 and Yoselyn Aguirre earned a win of her own.
Carpinteria High (5-5, 3-0 CCL) will host Santa Barbara High on Friday.
Dos Pueblos 15, Ventura 3
The Chargers swept singles play en route to a Channel League win over the Cougars on Tuesday.
In the 9-0 singles performance, Dos Pueblos surrendered just four games to the Ventura lineup.
Meanwhile, Taylor Dannemiller/Nikita Fisher did not lose a single game in their two sets, while Nico Pfeiffer/Addy Barth chipped in two wins.
“Our team’s success has been an effective combination of mature players and our new motivated underclassmen,” Dos Pueblos head coach Alan Richter said. “It’s created a lively and supportive atmosphere on the team.”
