Local organizers, community members and volunteers in Lompoc will join communities across all 50 states and Washington, D.C., for No Kings: Vote Early, 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Oct. 17.

The event is a nationwide day of action focused on nonpartisan voter participation and election protection, according to organizers Lompoc Indivisible.

The Lompoc No Kings: Vote Early rally will take place on the public sidewalks at the corner of North H St. and Central Avenue.

The rally will serve as a hyper-local gathering site where neighbors can double-check their voter registration, locate polling places or ballot drop boxes, organize rides to the polls and connect with voter protection networks ahead of the Nov. 3 midterm elections, event organizers said.

“All voters, regardless of political belief are welcome and encouraged to join this peaceful, voter-positive community event,” said Lompoc Indivisible.

Lompoc Indivisible recommends registered voters cast their ballots early using the secure election drop boxes that are open 24 hours a day every day until 8 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3. Or vote early at polling places that are open 7 a.m.-8 p.m. on Nov. 3.

The Santa Barbara County Elections website has accurate information about elections and voting.

“Election Day is less than three weeks away, and we want the community to walk away from our No Kings: Vote Early event knowing all the options for voting so that each registered voter can make a concrete voting plan,” said Sam Taylor, chapter president, Lompoc Indivisible.

“On October 17, we’re coming together to make sure everyone is ready to vote before or on Nov. 3, and that our community is prepared to protect every legal vote, too,” Taylor said.

The Oct. 17 event for the Lompoc community is one of more than 2,000 local No Kings: Vote Early actions nationwide.

Groups organizing the events across the country include the ACLU, American Federation of Teachers, Black Voters Matter Fund, 50501, Indivisible, League of Women Voters, MoveOn, Public Citizen, State Voices, and Voto Latino. For a full list of current partners, visit nokings.org/partners.
