Laguna Blanca girls volleyball began its quest for a CIF-SS Div. 7 championship with a sweep of Brea Olinda on Wednesday in Hope Ranch.
The Owls battled to wins in the opening two sets before finishing off the sweep comfortably in set three, 27-25, 26-24, 25-17.

“I couldn’t be more proud of the way our girls played tonight and stayed composed in all the tight points,” Laguna Blanca head coach Tanner Stevens said. “Our fans showed up and made it a really fun environment and it was nice to get a win under our belt.”

The Owls will now hit the road and take on Sacred Heart in the second round on Saturday in Los Angeles.
Laguna Blanca’s Lauren Kenny recorded a double-double of 10 kills and 12 digs, while Maritt Blabey also contributed on both ends with 12 kills and eight digs.
Greta Alldredge chipped in nine kills of her own, and Lolayna Redmond facilitated the Owls’ offensive attack.
“We passed incredibly well and as the night went on, we were able to get them out of a system a little bit more, which was the tipping point,” Stevens said.
Laguna Blanca is now 16-10 on the season, including three straight wins and victories in five of its last six matches.
