To complete the program, participants are required to attend both sessions, unless they are updating an existing advance directive.
Registration is required by Tuesday, Sept. 2. To sign up, call Mi Regalo, 805-456-4665 or email CommunityACP@hospiceofsb.org.
Advance care planning is an important process for adults of all ages to make their healthcare wishes known, said Sansum Clinic, now part of Sutter Health;
Workshop participants will:
• Learn how to make decisions about the medical care they would or would not want in the event of serious illness or injury.
• Choose a trusted person to make healthcare decisions on their behalf if they are unable to do so.
• Gain guidance on how to discuss these preferences with doctors and loved ones.
• Complete their MyCare advance directive.
Those who complete their document will also be entered into a raffle.
