Alpha Resource Center of Santa Barbara is launching a new fundraiser called Pigskin Madness, with a goal to raise $40,000-$50,000 for the organization.

Sponsored by American Riviera Bank, Pigskin Madness is a raffle. Tickets have four randomly selected professional football teams for each of the 18 weeks of regular season play. At the end of every week all the team scores are added together, and five tickets with the highest and the lowest total scores win cash prizes.

Tickets are sold for $25 each or five tickets for $100. Ticket sales run now until Oct. 1.

Alpha Resource Center of Santa Barbara empowers individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Santa Barbara County by supporting families, creating opportunities, and fostering belonging. Funds raised through Pigskin Madness will support the programs and services of Alpha Resource Center of Santa Barbara.

Tickets can be purchased at Alpha Resource Center in Santa Barbara, Alpha Thrift Stores in Santa Barbara and Goleta, and SlingShot Art Studio & Gallery in Santa Barbara. Tickets also are available by calling 805-683-2145. To be in all 18 weeks of play, sold tickets must be turned in to Alpha Resource Center by noon Sept. 9.

Anyone over age 18 is eligible to buy (or can volunteer to sell) raffle tickets. Ticket purchasers don’t have to know anything about football. If they win during any of the 18 weeks, Alpha Resource Center will email them and then mail their winning check.

Alpha will award $475 each week of 18-week season, with $8,550 total payout for the season. There is at least a 1 in 2,500 chance of winning any one prize.
