Santa Barbara County firefighters responded Monday to a fire at a brewery and restaurant in Old Town Orcutt.
Crews were dispatched at about 9:45 a.m. to the Blast 825 Brewery at 241 S. Broadway, according to fire Capt. Daniel Bertucelli.
The first engine was on scene within two minutes, Bertucelli said, and found heavy smoke pouring from the two-story commercial structure.
Firefighters made an aggressive attack on the flames from the interior of the building and from the roof, Bertucelli said, and were making progress in quelling the fire.
An initial search of the building found no one inside, he added.
Crews from the Santa Maria Fire Department also responded to the blaze, using the lader truck to reach the rooftop of the building.
The fire was reported out shortly after 10:30 a.m., but firefighters remained on scene searching for hot spots and doing mop-up and overhaul of the scene.
As word of the fire spread, employees and residents gathered to watch the activity while the fire alarm blared loudly.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation., Battalion Chief Tom Himmelrich said.
A building official was headed to the scene to determine the extent of damage to the structure, Himmelrich added.
Now known as Blast 825 Brewery, the building is the former home for the now-closed Rooney’s Irish Pub.
