United Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Barbara County will hold a Poker Run, its summer event for car enthusiasts, Saturday, June 26. The Rally 4 Kids will return in April 2022.
A poker run is an organized event in which participants, using motorcycles or high-end vehicles, must visit five checkpoints, drawing a playing card at each one. The object is to have the best poker hand at the end of the run. Having the best hand and winning is purely a matter of chance.
After the morning drive, Camp Whittier will be open for the afternoon for Poker Run participant family members to enjoy the camp’s amenities and a ranch-style barbecue. Available facilities will include the new duel Zipline that opened in the spring, the pool, and archery area.
Levels of support include participating in the poker run for $1,000; $1,200 to sponsor a Club Kid, which covers the entry and guarantees one Club Kid will be sponsored for a year; or $5,000 to be a Checkpoint Sponsor.
Checkpoint sponsorship includes one car entry into the Poker Run, signage at the checkpoint, recognition on printed material, and a goodie bag for the driver and navigator.
