In this interview with Santa Barbara Talks, Barrett Reed said there is a lack of vision and that he will provide much-needed leadership on the Santa Barbara City Council.

“I will be strong on homelessness,” Reed said. “That said, I deeply care about people who experience hardships, some of the most challenging hardships.”

Reed is seeking the council’s District 4 seat. His top campaign priorities are revitalizing downtown, eradicating Santa Barbara’s homeless problem and protecting neighborhoods from overdevelopment.

Reed is co-founder of Miramar Group, an investment company focused on renovating and revitalizing declining buildings on the Central Coast. Reed also said he will set a different tone on the City Council

“I am tired of seeing the contentious nature of our council,” Reed said. “With seven elected members of the City Council from the same political party, you would think they would be able to better to work together, and that hasn’t been the case.”
