Dos Pueblos junior Emma Gilbert scored 16 goals as the Chargers split two games Thursday at the SoCal Championships, beating Coronado 14-8 and falling to Harvard Westlake 18-14.

Gilbert scored eight goals in each game. Against Coronado, she also had six steals and four earned exclusions.

Freshman HanaLora Abel and junior Athena Wigo scored two goals apiece against Coronado. Freshman goalie had seven blocks, an assist and a steal.

Dos Pueblos jumped out to a 5-1 first quarter lead.

Against Harvard Westlake, the Chargers were behind 13-3 at the half and battled back.

In addition to her eight goals, Gilbert had an assist, four steals, a block and three earned ejections. Senior Isabella Moore had two goals, three assists and a steal. Garner had four blocks.

DP’s overall record is now 9-11.

Santa Barbara

The Dons beat Redondo 15-5 Thursday.

Maria Bittle, Ella Maclear  and Oli Obando each had two goals for Santa Barbara. Bittle added two earned exclusions. Makenna Wright had two assists and two steals. Nalani Yim had six saves, including a penalty shot.

On Friday, Santa Barbara plays LB Wilson at Corona del Mar High School. The Dons are 7-12 overall.
