One person was killed and another was arrested following a shooting late Sunday night in the Tanglewood subdivision west of Santa Maria, according to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office.

Shortly before 11 p.m., personnel from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the Sheriff’s Office and American Medical Response were dispatched to the 1800 block of Ironwood Drive.

A Calstar medical helicopter also was dispatched, but was canceled.

Emergency crews at the scene said they were attempting lifesaving measures on the victim, according to emergency dispatch reports.

Investigators were dispatched to the scene to sort out the circumstances surrounding the shooting, which apparently occurred during a domestic disturbance, according to Raquel Zick, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.

“One victim has been confirmed as deceased and one suspect is in custody,” Zick said on Twitter early Monday. “We do not believe there are any outstanding suspects at this point.”

Additional details were not immediately available.
