A female pedestrian was injured Saturday when she was struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in downtown Santa Barbara, according to the Santa Barbara City Fire Department.

The incident occurred at about 9 a.m. at the intersection of Carrillo and Castillo streets, fire Battalion Chief Jim McCoy told Noozhawk.

The woman was in the crosswalk when she was struck, he added.

She was treated at the scene by AMR paramedics, then taken to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with minor to moderate injuries, McCoy said.

Her name and details on her condition were not available.

The collision was under investigation by the Santa Barbara Police Department.
