In recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which was in October, Belrose Estate Jewelers of Montecito pledged 5% of all sales to benefit the Breast Cancer Resource Center of Santa Barbara (BCRC).
“Their pledge resulted in a contribution of $4,611, recently presented to the organization, a continuation of nearly 20 years of caring, dedicated support,” BCRC said.
Belrose Estate Jewelers was founded on the East Coast in 1967 and established in Montecito in 2007. Led by Joe Schweke and his daughter Sarena Schweke, the boutique sells curated antique and estate jewelry.
“We are grateful to the Schweke family for their unwavering support over nearly 20 years,” said Silvana Kelly, BCRC executive director. “Joe and Sarena truly understand what it means to come together as a community to support those impacted by breast cancer and to honor the lives that have been touched.
“At BCRC, we recognize that breast cancer affects every part of a person’s life, which is why we are here to support the heart, mind, and spirit as well.”
BCRC, at 55 Hitchcock Way, is an independent, non-medical support agency that partners with a network of cancer care providers to help women access essential resources, make informed decisions, and find the community and care they need.
All BCRC services are offered free of charge, including education, peer counseling, support groups, wellness programs, and integrative therapies for individuals in Santa Barbara and surrounding communities.
BCRC is funded entirely through fundraising events and donors like Belrose Estate Jewelers.
