It’s official: Pickleball is coming to the Fairview Shopping Center in Goleta.
The Picklr is set to open seven courts at the former Bed Bath & Beyond store at 189 N. Fairview Ave. in the spring.
The Picklr has more than 100 “home clubs” across the country, with the Goleta facility marking the seventh California location.
The club will boast seven professional-grade courts, including two championship-size courts.
Additionally, there will be warm-up and cool-down rooms with fitness equipment, lockers, showers, a community lounge, artificial intelligence training systems, ball machines, dink courts and a professional shop, according to Jake Wong, who represents the owners.
The indoor courts also will have acoustically engineered systems to dampen the sounds of the balls.

The Picklr plans to be open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to midnight.
The potential of the closed home furnishing store turning into indoor pickleball courts was first noticed by local residents in September.
Now, it’s all coming true as interior demolition work is underway to make way for the sports facility.
Local residents Ted and Trish Guggenheim are owners of the facility and said they look forward to seeing how it will bring community members together.

“We’re committed to creating a welcoming, world-class facility that appeals to the entire community with tons of different programming, events and coaching for every level,” Ted Guggenheim said in a statement.
Once construction is done in 2026, the Guggenheims plan to celebrate the first month of the club being open with events for local residents.
For pickleball enthusiasts who can’t wait, however, they can sign up now to get alerted when the Picklr membership pre-sale is available.
