Santa Barbara High boys tennis captured a 15-3 victory over local foe Carpinteria High on Tuesday in Santa Barbara.
“As much as the score was lopsided, I was happy with how we played for the most part,” Carpinteria High head coach Charles Bryant said. “I saw some very competitive sets, although the score might not have always reflected it.”
The Dons swept doubles action throughout the day and earned six victories in singles matches.
Edwin Hernandez claimed all three of the Warriors’ points in the loss with a singles sweep.
“Santa Barbara has so many solid players that they can move a normal singles player into doubles and vice versa, without losing a step,” Bryant said. “They have a lot of depth and talent, but I was quite pleased with how we upped our game as well today.”
Carpinteria High (7-3, 4-1 Citrus Coast) will host Dos Pueblos on Tuesday.

Foothill Tech 11, San Marcos 7
The Royals dropped their non-league contest with Foothill Tech on Tuesday.
Despite the loss, San Marcos turned in a strong performance in doubles by claiming six of the nine possible points.
The duos of Cade Campbell/Jacob Cantrell and Will Schneider/Eliot Gray each turned in impressive showings to lead the way. Meanwhile, Braden Stewart picked up the lone singles win for the Royals.
San Marcos will host Cate on Wednesday in a rematch of last year’s CIF-SS Division 3 championship.
