The Breast Cancer Resource Center of Santa Barbara (BCRC) will present PINK WEEK 2021, Oct. 5-7, a series of webinars focused on education, awareness and empowerment.
PINK WEEK coincides with the start of October, which is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual campaign to bring awareness of the disease. Events will help raise funds to continue providing essential free services for individuals facing breast cancer in the Santa Barbara community.
Kicking off the local campaign will be The Pink Lounge Dinner, Friday, Oct. 1, at the Belmond El Encanto.
On Tuesday, Oct. 5, Dr. Daniel Greenwald, board certified in oncology and hematology with UCLA Health in Santa Barbara, will serve as keynote speaker, addressing The Future of Breast Cancer Treatment.
Other topics include Sexuality and Intimacy; Innovations in Reconstructive Breast Surgery, presented by honorary event chair Dr. Sara Yegiyants; Women’s Rights in Medicine; Options in Fertility Preservation; and a session devoted to the Spanish speaking community, Compañeras unidas por la salud de nuestros senos and Horrorizar el cáncer.
