San Marcos starter Caden Hodina pitched 6 innings, giving up three hits and one earned run while striking out seven in a 10-4 Channel League road win over Ventura Tuesday.
The Royals had nine hits, led by Patrick Kelly with three hits and scoring three runs.
Cole Shoenwetter, Hodina and Darren Orlando had two RBI each. Owen Estabrook had an RBI single and Mason Pettingill and Kieran Babai hit singles.
Brody Sturm pitched the seventh for San Marcos, striking out one and giving up three earned runs.
The Royals are 3-0 in Channel League play, and 5-3 overall. They host Ventura Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at San Marcos High School. The game was moved up to Thursday with heavy Rain slated for Friday.
