Three Carpinteria players scored in double figures, but it wasn’t enough as the Warriors fell to Nordhoff, 51-42, in a Citrus Coast League girls basketball game on Thursday.
Jamaica Cook led the Warriors with 17 points and 12 rebounds, Charlotte Cooney had 12 points and Amarisse Camargo scored 11 points and grabbed 14 boards.
After leading 29-26 at halftime, Carpinteria was outscored 13-4 in the third quarter and fell behind, 39-33.
“We will get better at sustaining our high level of execution and learn to finish out games,” said coach Henry Gonzales.
Carpinteria is 2-3 in league and 8-9 overall.
“Though we are disappointed with the outcome, we will continue to improve and strive for a playoff spot,” said Gonzales.
