Cate boys tennis improved to 6-0 overall and 5-0 in league action with an 18-0 sweep of Villanova Prep on Saturday in Carpinteria.
Villanova Prep began the day by conceding six sets due to a lack of players, giving the Rams an immediate advantage. Cate cruised to the win form there, dropping just four of the 76 total games.
Andrew Jayich went 3-0 in singles, Bruce Li and Kakeru Hirofuji each went 2-0 and Ian Sheshunoff and Ramsey Bolton rounded out the singles points with one win apiece.
In doubles, Graham Clinger/Kiy Barry, Kaden Greene/Kendrick Suen and James He/Kenneth Wang all won their matchups to complete the victory.
“The season and our record so far reflect both the team’s skill and its depth,” He said. “This matchup was no different, with our players continuing to adapt to anything in order to outplay our opponents in wide-margin victories.”
The Rams will host Camarillo on Tuesday.
