A crash Monday afternoon involving a U.S. Post Office vehicle and a semi-truck with a trailer sent one person to Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria with minor to moderate injuries.

Just before 4 p.m., personnel from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the Santa Maria Fire Department, American Medical Response and the California Highway Patrol were dispatched to the incident on the 3500 block of West Main Street, between Santa Maria and Guadalupe, according to county Fire Department spokesman Mike Eliason.

The collision involved a mail truck and a big-rig with a trailer carrying 25,000 pounds of lettuce, according to CHP emergency dispatcher reports.
