The Granada Theatre will host a screening of “Tiler Peck: Breaking Pointe,” a raw documentary about one of ballet’s brightest stars confronting career-altering injury and personal loss.

The event, which is free to attend, will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday Feb. 18.

Peck, a California-born dancer, now a New York City Ballet (NYCB) principal, returns to Santa Barbara for this premiere and post-film discussion.

The 52-minute documentary (Alex Ramsey, 2025, TV-PG) captures Peck’s journey through resilience, artistry and reinvention as she reimagines her relationship to dance following life-altering events.

Peck’s latest commission “Concerto for Two Pianos” premiered at NYCB in February 2024.

A post-film discussion with Ninotchka Bennahum, UCSB Arnhold Professor of Dance Studies, will explore Jerome Robbins’ influence on Peck’s artistry.

The Feb. 18 screening also kicks off UCSB’s Ballet Festival: Jerome Robbins (March 3-4), a two-day celebration curated by Peck and featuring an all-star cast.
