Dos Pueblos boys lacrosse moved above .500 on the season with a 13-1 win over Thacher on Thursday at Scott O’Leary Field in Goleta.

Thatcher scored the game’s first goal, but the Chargers (4-3, 2-1 Channel League) rattled off 13 unanswered goals on their way to the victory.

“We started out a little shaky, but I thought we played well for most of the game,” Dos Pueblos head coach Lucas Martinez said. “We were working the ball around, finding one more pass, finding the seams in the defense and taking high-quality shots.

“We also maintained our possessions and kept our turnovers in check, which is critical to our success.”

Austin Fauver led the Dos Pueblos offense with four goals, while both Koa Birchim and Finn Nelson-Walker tallied hat tricks.

The trio of Dylan Wooten, Dean Wendel and Luke Patterson rounded out the scoring with one goal apiece.

“Defensively, we had really strong performances from our close defense (of) Jackson Sillers, Andrew Spencer and Dean Wendel,” Martinez said.

“We were aggressive, disruptive and we dictated the flow of the game. I was also really happy with the way Kingston Strebel played in goal, anchoring our full defensive unit.”
