Dos Pueblos’ Celeste Alcaraz claimed the Channel League Girls Golf Championship with a first-place showing at the league finals on Monday at River Ridge Golf Course in Oxnard.

Alcaraz, who shot an 87, will be joined by San Marcos’ Chloe Bellamy, who carded a 90, as the lone local golfers to compete in the CIF-SS Individuals Northern Regional next Monday.

Alcaraz, a sophomore, finished two strokes ahead of Ventura’s Natalie Jones to claim her first Channel League individual title.

She was closely followed by teammate Danielle Hickman, who shot a 91 to finish in fifth place and just missed the cut for CIF-SS Individuals.

Dos Pueblos’ Isabella Sebastian (94) and Angelia Pagliaro (96) also carded top-10 performances in eighth and ninth place, respectively.

Macy Prahm capped off the Charger golfers with an 18th-place finish with her score of 110.

San Marcos

Bellamy led the charge for the Royals, shooting a 90 to place third individually and punch her ticket to the CIF-SS Individuals next week.

“She was very focused today and had a string of five pars in the middle of the round to put herself into a good place,” San Marcos head coach Sarah Ashton said. “We are excited that she is representing our team at CIF. She put in a lot of time to prepare for today’s round and it showed.”

Meanwhile, her teammates Mia Rocha (7th place) and Karenna Saleh (8th place) joined Bellamy in the top 10 but fell short of qualifying for the CIF-SS Individuals.

Simrin Singh finished in 11th place with a score of 99, Hadley Schmidt shot a 101 to take 17th place and Sierra Kaderali rounded out the San Marcos golfers at 115.

Santa Barbara High

The Dons’ lone finisher in the top 25 was Cecilia Duarte, who carded a 99 to finish tied for 10th place.
