Dos Pueblos High’s Competition Cheer Team placed fifth out of 12 teams from across the country at the USA Competition Cheer Nationals in Anaheim last weekend.
This year was the first time that the Chargers fielded a competitive cheer team, making the accomplishment all the more impressive.
In the Nationals performance, Dos Pueblos put together a zero deduction routine to earn fifth place.
“They practiced every day and put in long hours to perfect their competition routine for Nationals,” Dos Pueblos coach Jennifer Lee said. “Dos Pueblos High School is very proud of their first ever Competition Cheer Team.”
Before Nationals, Dos Pueblos attended a pair of competitions where they placed third and fourth to clinch a spot in the Anaheim competition.
