Dos Pueblos High School announces the appointment of Rosina Garcia as the new Head
Coach of the Track & Field program.
Garcia brings a wealth of experience to Dos Pueblos, both as an accomplished athlete and a
proven coach. A former CIF Southern Section athlete and competitive ultra runner, she has an extensive background in endurance training, performance development, and athlete mentorship.
Prior to joining Dos Pueblos, Garcia coached track and field and cross country in San Diego,
where she guided multiple teams and individual athletes to state-level appearances,
establishing a reputation for building competitive and cohesive programs.
“I am excited to join the Dos Pueblos community and build on the strong program former head coach David Jackson established,” said Garcia. “I’m committed to developing resilient,
well-rounded athletes on and off the track while continuing to support the strong team culture that already exists.”
Garcia’s coaching philosophy emphasizes resilience, accountability, and long-term athlete
development. Her experience across multiple disciplines within track and field, paired with her firsthand knowledge as a high-level competitor, positions her to lead the Chargers’ program into its next chapter of success.
“Coach Garcia is coming to a great program with experienced leadership, energy, and vision. We are excited for the future of the Track & Field program under her direction,” Dos Pueblos athletic director Sienna van Alphen said.
