Dos Pueblos had three entries accepted for the highly competitive APU Meet of Champions, and all did well.

Andy Brennan took seventh place in the 800 meter invitational, bettering his PR by seconds with a time of 2:00.86.

Ellie Gleason come in fourth in the 1600m Rated, with a time of 5:11.71, lowering her season’s best by 12 seconds.

Eamon Gordon took 12 place in the 3200m Rated, with a time of 9:33.68, a five-second improvement on his PR.

Brennan moves up to No. 4 on the Channel League rankings, with only his second-ever running of the 1600m.

“He went with the fast opening pace leader and came though 200m in 27 seconds, followed by 55 at the 400m,” Charger coach David Jackson said. “He held good form and carried himself through the finish line, with new appreciation for race tactics and pacing.”

Gleason moves up to No. 3 in League standings. She’s just five second away from her PR from last year.

“Gordon did his best to avoid congestion in his race, and found himself running in lane 2 most of the race,” Jackson said. “His performance moves him up to #4 in League standings.”

“As a coach, it’s good to hear my students talking about how they felt they left a few seconds on the track through different tactics that either held them back a bit, or due to positioning found themselves running extra distance each lap,” Jackson said. “They’ll be motivated to keep up their training, and improve on the little things next chance they get.”
