Dos Pueblos boys and girls wrestling captured the Santa Barbara City Championship with a Channel League dual meet sweep of San Marcos on Tuesday inside Sovine Gym.

The Charger boys earned a 48-16 victory over the Royals, while Dos Pueblos came out on top 36-24 in the girls matchup

Boys

Dos Pueblos earned several dominant wins on the boys side, including pins from Thiago Hidalgo (126 lbs.), Gavin Greene (150 lbs.), Max Mazin (190 lbs.) and Ethan Ono (215 lbs.)

Meanwhile, Patrick Sullivan and Andrew Gilligan recorded technical fall wins at 138 and 132 pounds, respectively.

Sidarth Ramachandran (144 lbs.) and Jason Dubbs (113 lbs.) each won by way of major decision, while David Estrada (165 lbs.) and Michael Sanchez (120 lbs.) picked up wins by decisions to round out the Charger winners.

On the other side, San Marcos got individual wins with a Leon Fox pin, a comeback victory by Antony Leal, a major decision win by Tripp Jones and a 7-1 victory by Isaac Trujillo.

Girls

The Chargers had three wrestlers compete in the girls meet, and all three came away with pins to help their team earn the 36-24 win.

Ariana Valladares (100 lbs.), Sabrina Bogia (120 lbs.) and Lesly De La Rosa Reye (155 lbs.) all made quick work of their opponents en route to the individual victories.

Dos Pueblos’ Elizabeth Vargas (105 lbs.), Estephany Rodriguez (130 lbs.) and Jennifer Salcedo (145 lbs.) all picked up forfeit wins as well.

All four of the San Marcos girls wins came by forfeit, with victories going to Yasmin Cisneros, Keilani Pozos, Angelique Silva and Cambria Stephens.
