Earlean Crockett was born in Holmes County, Lexington Mississippi, on June 13, 1936 to Henry and Hattie Wigley.

Earleen was one of 13 children: James, Charles, Henry, Murdis, Earl Lewis (Earleen’s twin brother), Willie Earl, Kathreen and three other siblings.

Earleen was preceded in death by her husband Joe Crockett; daughters Catherine (Pete) Davis Squarrel, Henreitta Maddox; grandson Tory Dinton; as well as her 12 siblings. She leaves behind three children Dorothy Holsome, Bettey Davis and James Maddox.

Earleen came to Santa Barbara in 1960 to find a career prior to moving her family to California. She worked as a dietitian and caregiver for St. Francis Hospital and Valle Verde convalescent home for more than 35 years, while she was raising her five children and two nephews, as well as numerous neighbors and friends along the way.

Earleen expected the very best out of her children in school, she instilled in her children how important education was in their future.

Earleen leaves behind her grandchildren Tyrone Davis, Tangela Holsome, Dana Scott Holsome, Troy Grand, Kwame Squarrel; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Interment services will be announced at a later date.
