Southern California Edison shut off power service for about 1,000 Santa Barbara County customers on Wednesday morning due to fire risk.
Affected areas were near Highway 154 and East Camino Cielo, Paradise Road, North San Marcos Road, and Cathedral Oaks Road and Patterson Avenue.
Edison is considering public safety power shutoffs for 10,000 more customers in Goleta Valley, Santa Barbara and Montecito neighborhoods.
The Outage Map indicates fire conditions are expected to continue until midday Thursday, and crews will start restoring power service after that.

In Santa Barbara County, a wind advisory will be in effect until 6 p.m. Wednesday, with gusts up to 50 mph in the forecast.
The eastern range of the Santa Ynez Mountains (along the South Coast) and interior mountains are included in a Red Flag Warning Wednesday due to windy, dry, warm conditions, the National Weather Service said.
The utility company has activated public safety power shutoffs for more than 135,000 customers in its service area, including near the wildfires burning in Pacific Palisades, Altadena, Pasadena and Sylmar.
Strong winds and dry weather are fueling several raging wildfires in Los Angeles County, which destroyed homes and businesses and forced tens of thousands of people to evacuate.
“We are currently experiencing a significant number of weather-related power outages and Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) throughout our service area due to strong winds and wildfire-weather conditions,” Edison said in an email to customers Wednesday morning.
“To prioritize the safety of our crews and your community, we will restore power once the winds have settled, and our power lines are safely inspected.”
