Firefighters responded late Tuesday night to a kitchen fire at a restaurant in Solvang, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

Crews were dispatched shortly after 10 p.m. to the Big Bopper Drive-In on the 1500 block of Mission Drive, said fire Capt. Scott Safechuck.

“A passerby called 9-1-1 for smoke and flames seen from the outside,” Safechuck said.

It took firefighters about 10 minutes to knock down the flames, Safechuck said, but they remained on scene for mop-up and overhaul.

The restaurant was closed at the time of the fire.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the blaze remained under investigation.
