Firefighters were able to quickly douse a residential structure fire Monday night on the city’s Eastside, according to the Santa Barbara City Fire Department.

Crews were dispatched shortly after 6 p.m. to the fire on the 1200 block of East Montecito Street, where they found the fire in a detached unit behind the main residence, fire Battalion Chief Cory Cloud told Noozhawk.

The flames were contained to a bedroom and its contents, but the residents were displaced by the fire, Cloud said.

The residents were at home at the time but were able to safely evacuate, and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
