Santa Barbara County Fire Department firefighters on Saturday kept a Cuyama Valley vegetation fire from spreading beyond 8 acres, according to Fire Capt. Mike Gray.
Crews were mopping up the area around 5 p.m.
Emergency personnel first responded to the 2100 block of Aliso Canyon Road just before 3 p.m. for the report of a growing 5-acre vegetation fire, according to emergency radio traffic.
No structures were threatened.
This was the second vegetation fire in that area in less than 24 hours.
Firefighters knocked down a 3-acre vegetation fire on Friday evening roughly half a block south of the Saturday fire.
