The Dos Pueblos defense took center stage early, allowing just three goals through the first three quarters while holding Agoura scoreless in the third.
Meanwhile, the Charger offense was consistent throughout, building up a 12-3 lead heading into the fourth. From there, Dos Pueblos held on for the 13-6 tournament-opening win.
Talia Marshall and Cierra Furneaux led the offensive effort with four and three goals, respectively. Meanwhile, Kyra Jones was all over the pool with one goal, three assists, two field blocks and one steal.

Orange Lutheran 12, San Marcos 11
The Royals dropped their tournament opener to a strong Orange Lutheran team on Thursday at Santa Barbara High.
San Marcos was in front for the majority of the matchup, leading by two goals at halftime and holding a three-goal advantage with one quarter to play.
However, Orange Lutheran caught fire down the stretch and pulled out the one-goal victory.
Charlotte Raisin shined offensively for the Royals with three goals and seven earned exclusions, while Jade Pattison led the team with five goals. Meanwhile, Bethany King collected seven saves in the cage.
“I was proud of the team. We played a great team defensive effort,” San Marcos head coach Chuckie Roth said. “However, [Orange Lutheran’s] ability to go one-on-one with us was overpowering. They have some amazing players and are well coached.”
The Royals will continue the tournament against San Clemente on Friday at 1:15 p.m. at Santa Barbara High.
Carpinteria High 11, Nordhoff 5
The Warriors earned a Citrus Coast League win over Nordhoff on Thursday.
Carpinteria dominated the early stages of the game thanks to a strong first quarter from Hazel Dugre and Holiday Smith, building up a 7-1 halftime lead.
The Warriors, led by impressive defensive efforts from Lucy Moore and Lucia Smith, fought off any comeback efforts in the second half en route to the victory.
“Our girls have been prepping mentally for the rest of the season and they know we have to stay the course to come out in the rankings right where we belong,” Carpinteria High head coach Russell Russo said. “They have been showing a lot of heart and I value that the most.”
The Warriors will be on the road against Hueneme on Tuesday.
